Sofie Jankuhn (age 22) contracted Covid-19 in December 2020. Though initially her illness was relatively mild with flu-like symptoms, it has since turned into »long Covid«—dramatically changing her life. In the middle of 2021, she moved from her own place back to her mother´s apartment, unable to care for herself independently. Her multiple pains left her dependent on her mother for support. Since then, she has been taking medication to manage her long Covid symptoms, such as fatigue and muscle and nerve pain. Sofie is gradually tapering her medication doses. She is working hard to build herself up physically and mentally to return to the »old Sofie«. She is looking forward to the independent life she lived before long Covid shifted her world.
